How To Cleanse Natural Hair | Regimen part 2

how to cleanse natural hair

We began the natural hair regimen series with a look at how I prepare my hair for washing in my “Pre-Wash Routine.” Now, I discuss how to cleanse natural hair to prevent tangles, retain moisture, and prepare for conditioning. To maintain healthy hair, you must take care of your scalp. The goal is to provide a clean environment for your natural sebum to condition the skin. A healthy scalp leads to healthy follicles sprouting from the scalp.

My Favorite Natural Hair Cleansing Products

* Camille Rose Naturals Sweet Ginger Cleansing Rinse: A gentle, natural shampoo great for weekly use that smells delightful and doesn’t strip the hair or scalp.

*DevaCurl No-Poo Decadence Zero Leather Cleanser: A gentle cream cleanser that is great for simple cleansing or mid-week cleansing. It doesn’t quite remove my hair hold gel’s, but is perfect for getting rid of minimal product mid-week.

*Ouidad Ultra-Nourishing Cleansing Oil: My favorite shampoo for monthly deep cleansing without stripping the hair and preparing it for elasticity treatments.

I thought about how best to show how to cleanse natural hair, and decided that bringing you all into the shower with me would be the best way. I always cleanse my natural hair in the shower, but as long as you keep your hair in braids or twists, cleansing in the sink will work just as well.
