Another highly requested gel in this summer’s wash and go series is the ECO Styler Sport gel. I have been intrigued by this gel since Elle from Quest for the Perfect Curl endorsed the Blue Eco as a favorite for her type 3 curls. One thing the Pink Eco Styler gel taught me is not to judge a gel by its hold level, so I was excited to give this bad boy a try.
After three uses, I can say that ECO Styler Sport has medium hold, does not block out moisture, and gives some good curl definition to my type 4 natural hair. The only difference in ingredients between this gel and other gel’s by ECOCO Beauty is the lack of oils or tea leaves, otherwise the difference is definitely in the performance.
Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Carbomer, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Glycerin, Amino-2-Methyl-1-Propanol, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Polysorbate 20, Tetrasodium EDTA, Fragrance, CI 42090 (Blue 1)
ECO Styler Sport performs quite similarly to the ECO Styler Curl & Wave gel (pink). It provides hold without taking away volume, and I was able to get great hair for four days, moisturizing only twice. Also, despite the serious humidity and constant exercise, my hair still felt moisturized at the end of the week.
Take A Look!
I purchased the ECO Styler Sport gel from my local Walgreens, but I have also seen the Blue Eco at several beauty supply stores around town. Check out the video below for a closer look at product application and performance over a five day span:
We are officially half way through the ECO Styler Professional gel’s, just five more to go! Which one are you looking forward to next? Next up is the ECO Styler Super Protein gel.
