My morning skin care routine is about exfoliation and protection, so my evening skin care routine is about restoration. I have very reactive skin, and after a full day of exercise and harsh sun, I spend evening skin care calming my skin.
Evening Skin Care Routine
I have moved away from totally separate morning and evening skin care products. In the evening begin with the same La Roche Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser. Then I take advantage of the benefits of Witch Hazel by toning. Again, I follow up with treatment. I feel La Roche Posay does treatments very well, so I rotate between the La Roche Posay Redermic(R) Anti-Aging Concentrate and the La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo. Between these two treatments, my acne is under control. After letting either of those treatements sit for at least five minutes, I simply moisturize with the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream.
Also, about five nights out of seven I apply a mask after cleansing. I have a set of Peter Thomas Roth Masks that I am currently using. Once a week I use the Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud Purifying Black Mask. The other days of the week I use the moisturizing masks. Right now, I do not need to use the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask, so I am saving that for Fall or Winter.
The most important steps in this routine is gentle cleansing, toning and treatment. I save on the toner and moisture step. They are necessary steps, but there are great cheap options out there. My cleanser isn’t especially expensive, but I haven’t found any under $10 that are gentle, deep cleansing, and do not contain fragrance with no lather.
