Five Favorites From The Month of October

October was a month in transition so life was very predictable, but I did try a few things that are great finds and enjoy a few bits from my beauty arsenal. It may feel like Fall where you are, but in Florida, we are experiencing an extension of summer. We did have a week of cold weather (Florida cold), so my products are still focused on warm weather.

Though the weather remains warm, the humidity has decreased slightly. Of course, I as the seasons changed I ran out of my favorite Nivea body lotion, so I decided to try Jergens Ultra Healing Lotion. Can we say immediate hit! I actually like the Jergens more than the Nivea because its less greasy so it soaks into the skin a little quicker. Keeping with skincare, in the month of October, I featured several black owned businesses on my Youtube Channel.

One brand that I featured was Dr. Woods Naturals, which is a black owned business focused on creating soap using natural ingredients. I really love everything I have tried from the brand, but specifically in October I picked up the Dr. Woods Naturals Black Soap Facial Cleanser. This cleanser is gentle, cleanses well, and is only $6.99. It is such a great value, and my combination oily skin has been loving the morning pick me up this cleanser provides by way of tea tree oil.

Aside from a few products, my focus has been on switching as many of my products to black owned businesses as possible, so many of my October favorites are from black owned brands. I do not intend to only buy black, point blank period, but I do plan to intentionally support minority owned and women owned business as much as possible. However, in October I revisited and fell in love with Mac Cosmetics lipstick in Rebel.

The beautiful berry toned Rebel, is perfect for this bright Fall we are experiencing in Florida. It is also one of the Mac staple lipsticks that every makeup lover owns. Lastly, in the month of October, I really dove back into reading. I read a few gems in October, but I must talk about Born A Crime by Trevor Noah. Listen to this as an audiobook, and thank me later. Noah is freakin hilarious, his prose is well composed, and the story is just phenomenal.

Lol. We just experienced our hiccup of rain today and now we get some cold. Gives me an excuse to bust out the apple cider.
