Due to hormones, my skin is in a constant state of flux. There are weeks when my skin feels more dry, more oily, or even normal. However, I have discovered a skin care routine that keeps my combination oily acne prone skin happy regardless. This routine does not guarantee me perfect skin, but that is ok because all I want is controlled acne. Of course the pill helps, but I have discovered that the products I use truly do matter.
My Morning Skin Care Routine
Some time last year I decided to switch from purchasing Paula’s Choice products online, and finding skin care products I could buy locally. I knew I wanted to first find a new chemical exfoliator. For my skin its essential, so I went on the hunt and decided on the Biologique Recherche Lotion p50. I saw immediate results! It took exactly one week for me to see a definite change. No more dull skin or clogged pores for me, and score for my skin care routine. I follow that up with the Clinique Moisture Surge Spray to soothe my skin and to create a hydrating moisture sandwich.
Then I turned to cleanser, which led me to Le Roche Posay. The La Roche Posay Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser does not suds, is gentle, yet gets my skin clean. It’s fragrance free, and doesn’t irritate my skin. In the mornings I also use the La Roche Posay Redermic(C) Anti-Wrinkle Firming Face Moisturizer. This Vitamin C serum has truly been the miracle I have been looking for. Regardless of any hyperpigmentation, my skin looks brighter and I credit that with the Redermic(C).
I find that Le Roche Posay excels at their treatments, and do not feel the need to pile anything else on top. I simply follow up with the Elta MD UV Clear Broad Spectrum Spf 46 to protect my skin from further darkening of hyper pigmentation. This sunscreen is an oldie but a goodie that I will never be without. I’ve been using this routine for eight months now, and my skin couldn’t be happier. I rarely get pimples, even during my period, and the brightness and texture of my skin has improved significantly.
