Natural hair heat protectants straighten

I will straighten my hair for the first time since going natural this weekend or next week. Depends on how much time I have. This means that I needed to go out and purchase the necessary products and tools to keep from damaging my hair. I have shampoo’s and conditioners, so I went to Ulta and purchased a couple of heat protectants:

heat proectants

1. It’s a 10 miracle leave-in Keratin: I wanted to purchase a leave-in conditioner that will be moisturizing, strengthening, and can be used as a heat protectant. I could have used my regular leave-in’s, but I wanted to try to prevent immediate reversion by staying away from products that are heavy on the humectants.

2. KeraCare Strengthening Thermal Protector: This is a heat protectant in foam form. It’s sole purpose is to protect the hair from heat damage while blow drying. Setting foam/lotion is designed to provide volume plus moisture, and are best when used with heat.

4. CHI Silk Infusion: A silicone based gloss/oil to be used for heat styling. It also contains panthenol, which will help the hair maintain moisture while straightened. I plan to use this product to protect my hair during the flat ironing process.

flat iron

I was on the market for a new flat iron when I was offered this beauty for review. After looking up the specs of the styling tool, I decided to accept and give it a try. I will do a full video review on the flat iron after I use it a couple of times. Now I just need a blow dryer.

I gave my blow dryer to my sister awhile ago because she uses it all of the time. I am not going to ask for it back, so I need a new one. I am on the hunt for a quality tool that is ceramic/tourmaline, has high wattage and doesn’t get too hot to hold. I am also looking for a good deal right now because well, it is the Holidays! What blow dryer do you use? What do you like about it and what needs improvement?
