Beauty Hair Care Wash Day

Wash Day

wash day wash and go wash n go

For today’s washing focus, I had a hard time deciding between elasticity or clay, but in the end elasticity won. Why? Because I decided to style my hair in a wash and go, and if I wanted maximum coil definition with the least amount of frizz, elasticity was the obvious decision. The steps went like this:

  • First I combined avocado and rice bran oil into an applicator bottle. Then I warmed the oil by placing the bottle in warm water for a bit. I applied to dry hair, put on a plastic cap and my Thermal Heat wrap for about 45 minutes.
  • I then rinsed and cleansed twice with Coco Curl Hydrating Shampoo, followed by  the Ouidad Curl Recovery Melt Down Extreme Repair Mask.
  • While applying the mask in sections I detangled my strands and put on a plastic cap. After sitting under my hooded dryer for 15 minutes, I rinsed and could see and feel that my hair was much happier for the treatment.
  • After letting my hair dry for about 20 minutes, I used Mixed Chicks Leave-In Conditioner, Super Wet Gel, and Chi Silk Infusion to style my hair in a wash and go.

I can safely say that I made the right decision, and am really happy with my wash and go (video will post later this week). My first impression of the Ouidad Mask is that the product works quite well, has good slip, and smells pleasant. I will use the product a couple of more times before giving it a thorough review.

I am truly curious about the Ouidad product. The prices have always given me pause. Look forward to the details. This week I put off wash day three days so I could thoroughly S&D and dust my ends. Then I pre-pooed, clay washed, dc, and air dryed in twists. I am attempting to , protective style this month until my BDay in Feb. I will continue to wash and dc each week though. I have my hair currently in a flat twist on each side and gathered in a low bun in the back.
