Beauty Hair Care Wash Day

Wash Day

twist and curl

This week I decided to focus on moisture. I have done a protein, elasticity, and oil treatment this month, so I figured it was about time I infused my hair with moisture. Plus, I ran a race in freezing temperatures Sunday, and felt that my entire being needed some moisture upon my return to Florida. Wash day went like this:

  • Deep condition on dry hair with Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Mafura oil deep conditioner. I added a little oil to each section before applying my plastic cap and Heat Therapy Wrap. Meal prep was urgent, so I cooked while letting the DC soak in for over an hour.
  • Then I hopped in the shower and lathered twice with the Coco Curls Hydrating Shampoo. I’m dangerously low on this shampoo, but I haven’t decided whether or not to try something new (product junkie issues).
  • Then I applied the Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner and detangled my hair with gloved hands. This is my second time using gloves to detangle (more about that later).
  • After rinsing I applied the As I Am leave-in conditioner and the Taliah Waajid Crinkles & Curls Styling foam to set my hair on rollers, and proceeded with the styling process.

I filmed a twist and curl video so you will see that up on the channel later this week. Check out the photo above for a sneak peak of the curls achieved in the video.

What products and techniques did you use on your last wash day?

Can’t wait to see the vid. Your hair looks definitely infused with moisture. I have been using vinyl gloves for past few months and I totally can see a difference in the amount of hair loss on wash day. Every little unnecessary strand adds up. Curious to know how gloves are working for you.
