Beauty Hair Care Ramblings Wash Day

Wash Day | Just Plain Lazy

I wash my hair weekly, but that doesn’t always mean I want to! When I am not in the mood, but it must be done, I go with the basics: cleanse, detangle and condition. To begin, I cleansed my hair with Coco Curls Hydrating Shampoo, which if you haven’t tried it, you are missing out. Then I began to apply deep conditioner and detangle in sections. Mid-way through, I ran out of the Alikay Naturals Honey and Sage DC, so I opened up my jar of Shea Moisture Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Hair Masque to finish the job. IMG_1965

This is where lazy stepped in. I really didn’t feel like getting out of the shower, sitting under my dryer or warming up my heating cap, so…….once every section was detangled, I rinsed. Meaning the DC sat on each section for 15-20 minutes without heat or a cap of any sort *shrugs*.

Regardless, my hair was clean, detangled, and moisturized enough for me to hop out and style. I applied Oyin Handmade’s Hair Dew as my leave-in, and let that sit while I set up the camera to film the styling process. As promised, I set my hair for a twist out.

I followed my usual steps, used my happy products, and took about 35 minutes to set my hair in chunky twists. Tomorrow I will film the take down and have the video up by the end of the week. I just love the look of juicy twists, so I will be a little sad to seem them dismantled 🙁

The Shea Moisture DC is the last DC in my stash, so I will need to stock up during the Cyber Monday sale’s. My wish list is in the works, of which I will share later this week.

What did your wash day look like last week?

I actually pulled a lazy wash day. I think it is fall weather and daylight getting shorter. Lol. However I did take the time to pre-poo, which I only do in fall/winter, I pre-pooed with BASK apple sorghum oil( can’t remember name), jumped in shower and cleansed with Terresential Clay Wash, which I only use fall/winter when I use heavy butters and pomades, too lazy to get out of shower also, so I applied dc in shower(BASK cacao bark), I actually used less and liked the product much better in shower, (go figure), twisted hair in 5 big tsists. Let sit about 15 minutes while finish shower, rinsed in twists. Got out ,wrapped in t-shirts about 30 minutes, added BASK palm tapioca cream to each section, put in chunky twists and sealed with Oyin BSP. I plan to let my hair chillax in twists until time re-moisturize in about 4 days, then I would just re-moisturize, twist, and wear twist out about 3 days. This routine has really been helping my hair stay moisturized in the changing cooler weather.

Sounds very similar to what I did 🙂 I have had my eye on BASK products for years now, and have not bitten. Hopefully they have a good sale this year for Cyber Monday.
