Beauty Hair Care Styling Wash n Go Series

Wash n Go Series, Type 4 (a,b,c) Hair | As I Am Curling Jelly

I used As I Am Curling Jelly for the first time this past Sunday alongside the As I Am leave-in conditioner. I purchased the products from Sally’s Beauty Supply, but I have seen them in Target, Walmart, Walgreens and CVS (aka just about everywhere). I really have not seen many type 4 naturals using this gel, so after some research and hesitation, I gave it a try.

The Review

As stated on Facebook and in the video below, I loved this gel on day one, and then it was a no go! It has a pleasant smell, and glides on the hair. It has a thick snotty texture, but smoothes in the hands and on the hair easily. Immediately once applied, my hair felt a little zapped of life, but that feeling went away shortly thereafter.  On day one my hair dried soft, stickiness free, moisturized, and had tons of coil definition. Come day two, the honeymoon was over.IMG_0807

Day two, my hair fluffed out quite a bit, but there was still some coil definition, so I wasn’t too mad. However, as the day went on, the coil definition started to fluff out to fro land. Then I woke up on day three with coil definition in only a small part of my hair, straight strands in other parts, and snowflakes for days!!!!!!! Needless to say, I wore my hair in a puff for the remainder of the week. Check out the video below for an up close and personal look:

Have you used this gel before? Any tips?
