Beauty Hair Care Wash n Go Series

Wash n Go Series Type 4 (a,b,c) Hair | Super Wet Styling Gel + Giveaway

I hunted for this gel in so many places before I found it right here in Florida. I was down in South Florida this past Fall and stopped in a Walgreens for items I forgot to bring. We know that I am a true product junkie, and of course I always stop in the hair aisle. Much to my joy, plenty of Super Wet Gel stared at me from the shelf! When I decided to do this series, I knew that I had to get my hand on some of my favorite gel.

This gel is the sister to Xtreme Wetline Gel. It provides great coil definition with no crunch or gel cast. Check out the video for a closer look at the process:

  • Alcohol free
  • No build up
  • Jumbo size
  • Maximum hold
Ingredients: water , triethanolamine , carbomer , Pure Acrylic Polymer , methylchloroisothiazolinone , methylisothiazolinone , fragrance , propylene glycol , EDTA , D&C Violet 2
Defined hair? Yes
Soft hair? Yes
Moisture?  Yes, this depends on the leave-in you apply
Shine? Nope
Light Scent? Not at all!
This gel smells like bad cologne, the ingredients are not great, but they certainly aren’t harmful either. Plus, it does not have glycerine!  It has slip when applied to soaking wet hair, however if you want to apply more, you will need to wet your hair again to glide the product on. I paid $3.29 plus tax for a 2.2 lb jar of gel that will last awhile; gotta count that as a plus. Super Wet washes out easily and allows for great coil separation, which cuts down on tangles in the long run.

The gel plays well with all leave-in’s. However, the moisture in your hair depends solely on your leave-in. The gel does not contribute or take away from your hair’s moisture, it just provides frizz free hold. I can find this gel in several locations because I travel frequently, otherwise its hard to find. It is available at Walmart and Walgreens, depending on where you live. Super Wet is made in Mexico and is mostly stocked in areas with a high Spanish population.

I keep this gel stocked in my arsenal because it is my favorite! I wear my hair as is on day 1, and stretch it overnight for subsequent days. The lack of frizz provided allows for manipulation. I wish it was more easily accessible because at such a cheap price, I cannot justify shipping it on a regular basis. Otherwise, I love this gel and recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Hi! I am so glad that I found your site! I always believed that my hair texture could not tolerate a wash and go. After many years, I have finally have perfected a wash and go with Kinky Curly products! My hair loves it, but my wallet does not. I was wondering if you preferred this gel over the KCCC. I am curious because for some reason, I can not get a successful Day 2 from the KCCC. I am using this expensive gel every day!! I am willing to try a new gel, but I am nervous about the results. Thank you!!

Thank you! I do like the Xtreme Welting gel better. It provides better definition and much longer lasting hold. The definition will last until your next wash day, for sure. The best part is that the gel is only $2 or $3, you can’t really go wrong at least giving it a try. Let me know if you try the gel and how it turns out.
