My September Online Income Report shows an exceptionally good month of revenue.

I was able to meet and surpass my $1k goal. Plus, I made the content pivot I have been prepping my subscribers for on my Youtube channel. However, I did drop the ball in a few areas that will be very evident in the numbers below.

As we close out the year, my plan is to stay steady with my planned course. It is easy to constantly try new things, but I find consistency to be the best way to see results.

The Holiday Season Has Arrived!

This month was not my most consistent, but I will not give up or start over again. The best thing I can do is push myself to publish all of the content I plan to create.

I know that I will see the growth I hope for if I am consistent. The thing is, I can easily post content, but it’s the quality that stops me from posting just anything.

Nonetheless, I am proud of the content I am able to publish each month. Working a full-time job and creating quality content definitely stretches my capacity and sanity. However, I enjoy creating, sharing, and helping others so I will continue to shoot for the stars each month.

2020 September Online Income Report (+ TRAFFIC)

I am only reporting income that has actually been deposited into my bank account. This means all the money that I am showing you today was actually made in August and September 2020, because most of the programs I am making money from take around 30-90 days to deposit into my bank account.

Breakdown of September 2020 Online Income – $1,097.99

In September 2020, I made $1,097.99 online. Here is the breakdown of where exactly the money came from.

What did I do in September to grow?

I surprised myself in September by securing one sponsorship and one speaking engagement. Also, I was also able to increase my Youtube income.

Luckily, I received the Melanin Haircare Black Soap Shampoo quicker than most, so I was one of the first to post that high-demand review (12,000 views in one month). That post continues to gain traction and may reach evergreen status for my channel.

I do not expect that kind of boom in views every month. Especially since I am beginning to re-brand my channel to include personal growth and wellness content. Thus far, the reception to the new content is positive.

I think what has surprised me the most is that 79% of my subscribers watched the personal growth content! Any Youtuber will tell you that getting 50% of subscribers to watch content is doing quite well, so 79% is very encouraging.

I failed at Pinterest and blogging this month.

Honestly, I published 3 of 9 planned blog posts, and I rarely pinned posts. Needless to say, my income did not come from blogging this month.

My Plans for October

Until the end of the year, my focus is on solidifying my brand. My blog has always included natural hair, personal development, and wellness. However, my Youtube channel and Instagram posts have mostly been about natural hair with a bit of lifestyle thrown in.

Moving forward, the main task is to clearly define my content across all platforms for my followers. That way I can step outside the natural hair box, and share a wider variety of content.

How I plan to grow my online income in October

I will keep things simple for October by publishing high-quality content and marketing what I publish and offer:

  • I was able to finish fixing the SEO on all of my previous posts, so now I will work on re-organizing my blog content. I anticipate this taking several months, but have an end of year deadline.
  • One photoshoot: I need photography for blog posts, Instagram photos, and Youtube thumbnails. I booked a session for the end of the month, so in the meantime, I will decide on looks and the vibe for my Fall and Winter photography session.
  • Weekly consult solicitation: I have a few hair consultations scheduled for this month, but I need to remind people that the option is available and I need to ask for testimonials for the purpose of credibility.
  • Lastly, I need to market my content. This means daily pinning on Pinterest and content promos on Instagram. I hesitate to promote my content because of imposter syndrome… but I need to be a bit more shameless in this area to grow.

The Big goal: Post and promote high-quality content for the next three months

I hope to post 3 Youtube videos, 2 blog posts, and 3 Instagram photos every single week. Seems simple enough, but I also work a 9 to 5 job.

The thought of that much quality content scares me. On top of that, I need to continue to engage with my online community because they are what keeps me going.

The Flat Lay Play course was very educational and I plan to take lots of photographs to apply what I learned. Just for fun!

By no means do I think I will reach my target of $1k each month, but I will continue to share the journey. Is there any type of content you want to see more of on ALove4Me?
